In the summer of 2016 I saw Chinese Brush Painting for the first time and was instantly besotted. I had always loved art, but had never before even thought about trying to produce something myself. I was incredibly lucky to find a monthly class with a teacher Pauline Molesworth, and had my first lesson in November 2016. That was one of the best decisions I ever made and I have been painting ever since.
I am in love with the delicate brush strokes which capture the spirit and energy of the subject and adore the rich and beautiful colours. I have more recently become captivated with the simple looking but incredibly hard to replicate ink paintings of Sumi art. I am still very much a student and learning and practicing techniques all the time. But I hope that sometimes at least, my paintings catch the delicacy of a leaf or the grace or restrained energy of an animal. At the very least I hope the observer can see that I paint with passion and love for the art.
